Manipur: After the violence in Manipur, the efforts of the Union Home Minister to maintain peace have seen a big impact. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Manipur Chief Minister N. After Biren Singh’s appeal, 140 weapons were surrendered at different places in Manipur on June 1. Home Minister Amit Shah had appealed 24 hours ago that all those who have weapons should come and hand them over to the police, otherwise the police will conduct an investigation campaign for confiscation of weapons in the state.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said, “If any person is found in possession of unauthorized arms and ammunition during the search operation by the security personnel or otherwise, legal action will be taken against him as per the Arms Act 1959 and rules.”
