The dates for Asia Cup 2023 have been announced on 15th June. This time the Asia Cup will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka under the Hybrid Model. Four matches will be played in Pakistan and 9 matches will be played on Sri Lankan soil. Also, the inaugural Asia Cup will be played from August 31 to September 17. At the same time, after the announcement of the tournament dates, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi is not tired of praising Jay Shah.

In fact, the hybrid model was proposed by PCB chief Najam Sethi. Under this model, Najam Sethi had demanded that Pakistan’s group matches should be held in his country instead of the match against India. At the same time, India was told to play its matches in another country. Asia Cup matches will be held in Sri Lanka along with Pakistan. But its official host will remain Pakistan. Now PCB Chief Najam Sethi has praised Asian Cricket Council President Jai Shah after getting the hosting rights.

Najam Sethi said in a statement that, I am happy that the Asian Cricket Council has accepted our hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023. This means that PCB will continue as the host of this tournament and organize the matches in association with Sri Lanka.

Sethi further said that, our fans love to watch Indian cricket team play in Pakistan for the first time in 15 years. But we understand the position of BCCI. Like the PCB, the BCCI also needs government approval to tour other countries.
