French President Emmanuel Macron awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor to PM Narendra Modi. It is the highest French honor in military or civilian orders. PM Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this honour. President Emmanuel Macron presented the award to PM Modi during a private dinner at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Thursday evening. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘On behalf of the people of India, thank you for this unique honor.’ Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi described the award as a warm symbol of the spirit of India-France partnership.
Macron hosted dinner
Let us tell you that PM Modi reached the Elysee Palace in Paris for dinner, where he was received by French President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron. Macron hosted a private dinner for PM Modi. PM Modi had expressed happiness on attending the private dinner. In a tweet, he said that I am thankful to President Macron and the First Lady for hosting a private dinner at the Elysee Palace. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted that President Macron warmly welcomed PM Narendra Modi. Macron hosted a private dinner for PM Modi at the historic Elysee Palace. The leaders of both the countries tried to further strengthen the bond of their friendship.
PM Modi has been awarded with many international awards
This honor given by France is another in the series of top international awards and honors given to PM Modi by different countries. These include the Order of the Nile by Egypt in June 2023, Companion of the Order of Logohu by Papua New Guinea in May 2023, Companion of the Order of Fiji in May 2023, Abakal Award by the Republic of Palau in May 2023.
