Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur felicitated the winners of the 2nd Fit India Quiz 2022 State Round in Mumbai on Sunday.
On this occasion, he said that Rs 3 crore 25 lakh would be given as cash prize to the schools and students under the quiz. Shri Thakur informed that the Union Government has increased the budget for sports by three times.
He said that it is due to the efforts of the government that Indian sportspersons are performing brilliantly in various international events including Olympics.
About sixty two thousand students from more than sixteen thousand schools across 702 districts of the country participated in the second edition of Fit India National Fitness & Sports Quiz for Schools. The Sports Minister informed that the number of students participating in the second edition of the quiz has increased by 70 per cent as compared to the first edition.
