‘Dalai Lama’ is derived from the Mongolian word ‘Dalai’, meaning ‘ocean’ and the Tibetan word ‘Lama’, meaning ‘guru’ or ‘teacher’. The current and 14th Dalai Lama is Tenzin Gyatso. Tenzin Gyatso is a very respected person in the world community.
