History of Doctor’s Day
Celebrating Doctor’s Day in the country started in 1991. Since then it is celebrated every year on 1st July. It was decided to celebrate this day in the honor of former Chief Minister of Bengal, Dr. BC Roy. BC Roy was a freedom fighter. BC Roy was awarded the Bharat Ratna on 4 February 1961. That’s why this special day is celebrated on the birthday of BC Roy. BC Roy was born on 1st July 1882. He died on 1 July 1962. For this reason, July 1 was celebrated as Doctor’s Day.
Theme of National Doctors Day 2023
Every year Doctor’s Day is celebrated with a different theme. The theme this time is a bit different. This time the theme has been named Celebratory Resilience and Healing Hands.
